1st Time on CD for little known Schulze inspired long player from 1980 … and after hearing it you’ll be amazed as to why it hasn’t happened before now!

Amazing Synth Music Album Alert!! Relatively undiscovered for many, this is THE ONE I have personally been patiently longing to arrive on CD for a great many years – and it’s finally here!

Produced by KLAUS SCHULZE and originally released in 1980 on the German Telefunken label, this Schulze inspired album is a real lost gem that should have been released on CD many moons ago, but for some strange reason, never was … until now, because at long last it is getting it’s debut on the digital format!
I honestly thought this would never actually happen, but my prayers have finally been answered and it’s only taken 40 years for that dream to be realized!!!

Remastered in digital form for the very first time since 1980, ‘Cycles’ contains an epic mind-blowing opening track that spans over 18 minutes of ‘Berlin School’ bliss!
Believe me, this is a rare piece of nirvana from heaven for an electronic music fan, and to be honest, it’s release has made me more excited than I have been about a first time electronic music CD re-issue in many years!

Now, some of you may never have even have heard of Wolfgang Bock, but if you haven’t it doesn’t matter, because it will be a terrific new discovery that will make you wonder why you had never heard it before now … take it from me this album’s title track will take you on one amazing vibrant flowing rhythmical trip of a lifetime!
If you are an Electronic Music fan – especially of Klaus Schulze’s classics, then you MUST get ‘Cycles’, even if it’s just for that title track – it’s is more than worth the price on its own!!

Electronic-musician Wolfgang Bock (aka Peter Flieger) definitely comes from the environment of Klaus Schulze and his debut album ‘Cycles’ certainly was strongly influenced by the great master of the electronic music genre, and as he produced it I guess that was to be expected really.

The title track, which took up the entire first side of the original vinyl release, was performed completely in the tradition of the Schulze Berlin School.
Slowly wafting sound arcs and mystical Mellotron choirs determine the opening sequence of ‘Cycles’. After some time, the characteristic sequencer rhythm sets in, supplemented by “real” drums (c/o Brad Howel), and as the track drives on and builds it takes on speed and develops into one of the most exciting flowing, rhythmic epics you will ever here this side of Klaus Schulze … Wow!
On the second side of the original album however, Wolfgang Bock then hits more independent tones.
The 1st part of ‘Robsai’ consists mainly of powerful organ sounds, while the 2nd part on the other hand reminds a you a bit of some works by Vangelis, possibly like ‘Albedo 0.39’ or ‘Spiral’, with rejoiced synthesizer sounds accompanied by heavy drumming. About halfway through, the synthesizers fade away, and the rest of ‘Robsai - Part II’ becomes a pure drum solo (c/o Herk Hobb).

As a BONUS, this CD version of the album contains a track entitled: ‘Wir Fiegen Ins All’, which Wolfgang Bock recorded in 1981 at Berlin's Paragon Studios. The track was released as an EP in 1982 under the pseudonym HELICOPTER and features Hans Hardt or soaring high reg electric guitar and none other than the great HARALD GROSSKOPF on drums … remember his classic 1980 Sky LP ’The Synthesist’ … another album with a killer opening track on it.

‘Cycles’ is released on 25th March 2022.
